ok at this point I'm mildly curious so i wanna ask
Middle or high school?
Blue Devil for me, which was just the head of this goofy dude with horns smiling. He used to not be smiling but at some point they decided Angy Devil wasnt kid friendly enough or something
But like, making things for high school sports stuff is actually my job and you have NO IDEA how many schools are a Big Cat with red as the primary school color. Its painful. And i love every school that has a rare main color like purple~
I guess for this poll it falls under "some dude" but its kind of distressing how many schools still use native americans as mascots with names like "Raiders" and such. Thankfully the local one around me has stopped using the mascot altogether in the last five years.
I can also tell stories about stuff like one school that was named after a southern civil war general and one year they changed their name because y'know, Confederacy. But this was The South so IMMEDIATELY all support in the community for the school dried up.
And on the lighter side, schools that have names like Greencastle who's mascot is NOT medieval themed and the school colors do NOT include green! Drives me nuts!
Anyway i dont even like sports, but my job gives me lots of opinions on this kind of stuff!
